Anambra senate: Obiano, wife storm Onitsha Main Market for votes

The immediate past Governor of Anambra State, Willie Obiano, and his wife, Ebele Obiano stormed the Onitsha Main market to canvass for votes for his wife, Ebelechukwu, who is contesting for the Anambra North Senatorial seat in the 2023 general election.

While campaigning for his wife, the former governor vowed that if elected, Ebele would take the people of the zone to the next level, adding that her achievements especially in curtailing the sufferings of the downtrodden were there for all to see.

Willie reminded the electorate that as the ruling party in Anambra state, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has continued in its infrastructural development of the State, as he pointed out that his wife as a woman leader and mother, knows the problems of her children and people. 

“APGA as the ruling party will continue to provide the democratic dividend to the people and my wife will not deviate from ensuring that the people of Anambra North get their share of the national cake if elected,” Willie said. 

“A vote for her is a vote for the betterment of the people,” he continued.

In her speech, Ebele expressed satisfaction with the large turnup of the traders, vowing not to disappoint them as the State is APGA State, which gets 100 per cent votes in all elections.

Earlier in his speech, the chairman of the market, Innocent Ezeoha, reiterated that all votes would be given to her, for her achievements when she was the first lady of the State.

“We welcome former Governor Obiano and his wife to the Onitsha Main Market for their campaign rally and we will ensure she wins because she is a good mother and has done a lot for the poor under her foundation,” Ezeoha declared.

He said that the traders and people of Anambra North would vote for her and that APGA remains the party to beat in the state and beyond, as a mass movement party.

The market boss frowned at false social media reports that the former first lady was booed and not accepted when she came for the campaign rally in the market.

He advised those spreading the allegations to desist from it, in their own interest as APGA remained a winning party.
