Anambra 2023 : 45 Anambra South communities vow to be unbiased to  guber candidates

No fewer than 45 communities that make up Old Aguata Union, OAU, in Anambra South zone, Anambra State, weekend vowed to be unbiased to gubernatorial candidates of the various political parties so long they all emerged from the South zone of the state where the 36 communities are located.

Making the vow based on the coming November 6 governorship election in the state, the communities, Onitsha Bridge Head Market Unit, reiterated their resolve to only ensure that the next governor emerges from the South zone of the state.

Speaking on behalf of all the members at a general meeting held at Akpo townhall, Fegge, Onitsha, their chairman, comrade Peter Okala, flanked by his secretary, Michael Okafor, vowed that, “we will be non partisan”,

Top on the list of matters discussed included, the upcoming governorship election slated for 6th November 2021 where a number of drastic resolution were taken.

In their communique they reminded other two zones, (North and Central) of the gentleman’s agreement that the rotational system be strictly adhered to with respect to governorship slot amongst the three zones of the state.

According to the chairman, “it is Sacrosanct and the fact that it is the turn of the Anambra South zone is undisputable”.

The communique stated also that the Old Aguata Union, having a total of 45 comunities, are the most resourceful in terms of numerical strength, experience, unity, wealth, contact and capability to present candidates and campaign execution across the 326 electoral wards and 21 local government Areas in the State.

They resolved further that whatever instrument necessary to hit the ground running in terms of

winning the up coming election are in abundance in Anambra South and Old Aguata Union in Particular, hence no other zone should parade itself as godfather to Ndi Anambra South and the OAU in Particular.

They urged Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) not to accept any ugly situation of electoral malpractice that could make mockery of the state as a reference point to other elections in the South.
