DAMISO, Akure

Motorists and other road users have continued to shower praises on Ondo State Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu for prompt action over the bad portions of Akure-Ogbese-Owo federal road which had created a lot of hardship to motorists plying the busy road.

However, residents of Arigidi, Erusu, and Ajowa -Akoko are now appealing for such intervention on similarly failed portions between Agbaluku and Imo-Arigidi through Ikare to the Northern parts of the country.

The duo of Ibrahim Ajayi and Alhaji Jamiu Zakariyahu, expressed sadness over the persistent harrowing experience motorists and other road users are passing through on the deplorable road.

They observed that vehicles and motorists always faced gridlock when big Lorries particularly trailers going to Obajana and other Northern states fell down or get stuck on the muddy section of the road.

They observed that they have been experiencing this terrible situation over the years on the two kilometres abandoned road contract awarded during the former Governor Olusegun Mimiko administration.

The duo noted that the situation had negatively affected socio-economic activities of the people of the area who can no longer move freely.

According to them, the development had forced many commercial drivers plying the road to change their routes as the few ones on the impassable charged exorbitant fares.
