One of the four eminent Ikare indigenes kidnapped recently along Ikare-Owo road, while coming from Akure, the Ondo State capital, Basiru Adekile, is reportedly  dead.

Late Adekile, was penultimate week abducted alongside High Chief Oniku of Iku in Ikare-Akoko, Ondo  State and two others.

The kidnappers were later arrested following the intervention of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, who called for a meeting with Igbira people from Kogi State living in Ondo State.

All the suspects were said to be Igbiras.

The deceased, Adekile, was reportedly tortured by his abductors in the forest before they collected the ransom of N3million after which he was released.

Family sources hinted that since he regained his freedom, he has not been alright, as he was said to be moving from one hospital to another as a result of internal injury he sustained in the forest in the hands of the kidnappers.

At the deceased family house in Ikare, sympathizers were in pensive mood discussing his untimely death and raining curses on the kidnappers for their dastardly act.
