Ondo 2024: Our house now in order -APC

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State has said its members are fully set for the governorship race in November.

 The ruling party has been receiving defectors from other political parties especially in recent times.

According to its State Chairman, Engr. Ade Adetimehin, the party employed internal provisions to resolve crisis that trailed its governorship primary in April.

Adetimehin spoke when the State Working Committee members received representatives of the British Deputy High Commission office, from Lagos. The team was on political tour to Akure, the State capital.

He said: “We have carried out extensive reconciliations, using party internal mechanisms. Today, all the governorship aspirants have set aside their differences, and we are all working for the flag bear, Governor Lucky Ayedatiwa”.

The Chairman said several members of other political parties have indicated interest in joining the organized political party.

He described the APC as a darling party of the state, adding that the people of Ondo State have always embraced progressive party.

Adetimehin commended the roles of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the security agents in promoting rancor-free elections in the Sunshine State.

Earlier, Mr. Wale Adebanjo, a Senior Political Adviser at the Commission, said they were in the state to engage key political stakeholders ahead of the November election. He was accompanied by the Southern Nigeria Post Security Manager, Mr. Shawn Anwoju.

Adebanjo explained that the team listened to concerns of political parties, explored ways to address them in the best interest of states and the entire political system.

Deputy State chairman, Hon. Agabra Atili, led other members of the highest decision making organ of the party in the state to the meeting.
