Chairman/CEO, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has congratulated Abdulhamid Salihu Dembos, DG, Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), and Ali Mohammed Ali, the MD, News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), on their second three-year tenure renewal by President Bola Tinubu.
The renewal, announced by Mr Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, will see both media chiefs commence their second term on October 20, 2026, having first been appointed on October 20, 2023.
Dabiri-Erewa, in a congratulatory message issued by Head of Media Public Relations and Protocols Abdurhaman Balogun, described the re-appointments as a well-deserved vote of confidence in two dedicated media leaders whose work has been vital in projecting Nigeria’s image both at home and abroad, including to the millions of Nigerians in the diaspora whom NiDCOM represents.
She asserted that their continued leadership assures the country of sustained, credible and far-reaching coverage of national issues, including the diaspora agenda.
Dabiri-Erewa said the media veterans with years of professional experience have both demonstrated commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s state media institutions amid ongoing efforts to modernise operations and expand digital reach.
The NiDCOM Chairman wished them both continued success as they begin their new term in service of the nation.
