Alhaji Muktar Galadima, the Peoples Democratic Party flag bearer for Wukari/Ibi Federal Constituency in Taraba State, has stepped in to restore power to Unguwar Ciki in Ibi Local Government Area with a brand new 35KVA transformer.
The donation was handed over on Sunday. It comes in direct response to a lengthy blackout that crippled the area after the community’s old transformer packed up.
Galadima was represented at the presentation by Mr. Zando Hoku, Director-General of the Galadima 2027 Campaign Organisation. Hoku said the move was prompted by repeated appeals from residents who said the outage had stalled both business and daily life in Unguwar Ciki.
Speaking through his representative, Galadima said the intervention was just the beginning. He promised to back more projects around basic infrastructure and social services, and reaffirmed his commitment to tackling the problems affecting people in the constituency.
The transformer was received on behalf of the community by the traditional ruler of Ibi, His Royal Highness Alhaji Abubakar Danbawuro III, the Sarkin Ibi. The monarch praised Galadima for acting quickly on the residents’ complaint.
According to Danbawuro, the new transformer will bring much-needed relief to families who have struggled through weeks without electricity. He called on other prominent sons and daughters of Ibi to follow Galadima’s example by investing in projects that raise living standards.
The royal father specifically noted that Galadima responded within one week of the complaint being raised, and offered prayers for God’s blessings on him and everyone who helped make the donation possible.
Some residents who spoke at the handover described the gesture as both timely and meaningful. They expressed hope that the 35KVA unit would boost power supply across a large section of Ibi town.
The community members also sent a message to voters across Wukari/Ibi Federal Constituency, urging them to judge political leaders by concrete actions delivered to their areas instead of relying only on election promises.
