Rangers International Football Club has announced the passage of her attacking maestro, Dominic Nwobodo.
According to the press statement issued by the Club, details of his burial will be announced later.
The release reads: “It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Dominic Nwobodo, fondly known as Alhaji Nwobodo, a pioneer member of Rangers International Football Club.
“The sad event occurred at about 7pm yesterday, 14th August 2026.
“He was not only a dreaded attacker but also a remarkable national player in the 70s, who served the game with dedication, both as a player and as a coach. He was equally one of the founding fathers of the Ex-Rangers International Footballers Cooperative.
“We mourn the loss of a respected figure whose contributions significantly shaped the history and development of our esteemed Rangers family both as a player and coach.
“We extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and the entire Rangers fraternity.
“May Almighty God grant them the strength and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
“May the gentle soul of our dear colleague, Mr. Dominic Nwobodo (Alhaji Nwobodo), rest in perfect peace. Amen.
“Further details regarding the burial arrangements will be communicated in due course.”
