Afrobeat superstar, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has charged youths supporting the re-election bid of Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, not to be intimidated by political rascality.
Davido, who is the Chairman of the Adeleke’s Youth Mobilisation Campaign Team, gave the charge on Tuesday at the inauguration of the Imole Youth Mobilisation Campaign Team for the Osogbo Federal Constituency, held at Imole House, Osogbo.
The music star, who was represented at the event by the Vice Chairman of the campaign team, Kayode Olododo, urged the youth mobilisers to remain focused, courageous and committed to their political responsibilities ahead of the August 15, 2026 governorship election.
He said the inauguration marked the first time a dedicated youth committee would be incorporated into the campaign structure, describing the development as an indication of the importance attached to young people by the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke.
“This is the first time we will have a youth committee in the campaign committee. Our duty has been made easy by the Governor because he has invested so much in the youth.
“If you check those who are in government, you will see that the youth are fully involved,” he said.
Davido urged the newly inaugurated mobilisers to take the campaign to residents across their communities, particularly undecided voters and those who do not belong to any political party.
“Your duty is to meet with the residents. There are a lot of people who don’t have a party and don’t even know who to vote for.
“The APC does not have anything to campaign with, except failure that Adeleke is correcting, but for us, the Governor’s achievements are enough to campaign with,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Director of Operations, Dr. Musthofa Adebayo, in his welcome address said, “We are the engine room of this campaign. We are the force that will carry the IMOLE message to every doorstep and ensure no vote is left behind.
“The youths of Osogbo are ready. The structure is ready. Victory is non-negotiable! With unity, energy, and focus we will mobilize, we will engage, and we will win!”.
