Bishop  Dr Chidi  Anthony honour DCP Dayo Akinbisehin for excellence in policing, humility in service

The Pentecostal Ministers Forum, under the leadership of *Bishop Chidi Anthony*, today honored the *Deputy Commissioner of Police, DCP Dayo Akinbisehin*, DC SCID Panti, Yaba, Lagos, in recognition of his outstanding commitment to crime fighting and his reputation for humility and fairness in handling matters, irrespective of social status.

The recognition ceremony held at the SCID office in Panti, Yaba, drew members of the Pentecostal Ministers Forum, clergy, and stakeholders from the community who gathered to appreciate the DCP’s service to Lagos State and Nigeria at large.

In his address, Bishop Chidi Anthony described DCP Akinbisehin as an officer who embodies professionalism, integrity, and compassion in the discharge of his duties. He noted that the DCP has distinguished himself not only through his efforts in combating crime within the state but also through his approachable and humane manner of relating with members of the public.

“Today we are here to honor a man who does not see rich or poor, but sees people,” Bishop Anthony said. “DCP Dayo Akinbisehin has shown that policing can be done with both firmness and humility. He listens, he investigates, and he ensures justice is done without fear or favor. That is the kind of leadership our society needs at this time.”

The Forum commended the DCP for his proactive role in tackling criminal activities, cultism, fraud, and other security challenges under the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, Panti. Members noted that under his supervision, several cases have been resolved with diligence, while victims and families have received fair treatment regardless of their background.

Speaking after receiving the honor, DCP Dayo Akinbisehin expressed gratitude to Bishop Chidi Anthony and the entire Pentecostal Ministers Forum for the recognition. He dedicated the award to the officers and men of SCID Panti, noting that effective policing is a collective effort that requires the support of religious leaders, community stakeholders, and citizens.

“I am humbled by this recognition,” the DCP said. “Our job is to protect lives and property and to ensure that everyone, whether rich or poor, has access to justice. We will continue to work hard, remain professional, and serve the people of Lagos State with the fear of God.”

He also called for stronger collaboration between the police and religious institutions in addressing crime, youth restiveness, and moral decadence in society, stressing that faith leaders have a critical role to play in shaping values and promoting peace.

Members of the Forum prayed for the DCP and presented him with an award of excellence. They described the gesture as a way of encouraging public officers who serve with integrity and who put the interest of the people first.

The event ended with prayers for the Nigeria Police Force, for continued peace in Lagos State, and for divine strength upon DCP Akinbisehin as he carries out his responsibilities.

In a closing remark, members of the Pentecostal Ministers Forum declared, “Congratulations my DCP, for the sky will be your beginning,” expressing confidence that his dedication will lead to greater accomplishments in service to the nation.
