The National APC Christian Leaders Forum of Nigeria, NACLFON, has expressed optimism that Christians across the country will vote massively for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.
Rivers State Coordinator of the forum, Arch. Bishop Lucky Aroh, made the declaration at an interdenominational prayer summit on Wednesday in Oyigbo, Rivers State.
Speaking on the theme “In Due Season” Arch. Bishop Aroh said President Bola Tinubu’s administration had performed very well but the dividends were not yet fully felt at the grassroots due to poor governance at the state level by most governors.
He said while Nigerians have concerns over the cost of living, the Tinubu administration deserves another term to consolidate on it’s policies.
“Nigerians have yet to enjoy the dividends of the present administration because most state governors have failed to deliver good governance in their respective states,” Aroh said.
He explained that states have continued to receive huge monthly allocations from the federal government without commensurate delivery of infrastructure and economic growth.
“Yes, the fuel subsidy removal by Tinubu’s administration no doubt affected the cost of living but let’s look at the brighter side. Nigerians are complaining about Tinubu’s administration but they have failed to hold the governors accountable. We cannot continue to focus on public complaints without holding our governors to account,” he added.
The APC Chairman in Oyigbo Local Government Area, Mr. Acho Elechi, commended NACLFON for mobilizing support for Tinubu’s re-election and pledged to deepen collaboration between the party and the church.
“I’m here to tell the people of Oyigbo to work with this group because they mean well for our country. Here in Oyigbo, APC has recorded an alarming increase in voter registration and PVCs collection. My people are ready with their PVCs; in my Ward, Oyigbo Ward 9 alone, we have more than 20,000 registered voters,” Elechi said.
He emphasized that President Tinubu had increased financial allocations to states and local governments, and it was now the responsibility of governors and council chairmen to drive development to the grassroots.
According to him, delivering democracy dividends at the state level is the only way to cushion the effects of subsidy removal and complement federal government efforts.
Earlier in his remark, NACLFON Coordinator, Oyigbo Chapter, Mr. Elias Chidume, said the forum had embarked on massive mobilization of Christians for the APC ahead of the elections.
He noted that, beyond prayers for the party’s success, the group had engaged residents, women, and faith-based groups across Oyigbo.
“We are doing this to ensure that residents, including women, vote massively for President Tinubu and all APC candidates,” Chidume said.
The summit ended with prayers for the peace, unity and prosperity of Nigeria and for the success of the APC in the forthcoming elections.
