Coal Camp 2026 Carnival agog in celebration of Gov Mbah

…. Attracts over 400,000 people

No fewer than 400,000 people converged in the city of Enugu to witness one of the most remarkable events , Coal Camp 2016 Carnival, across the streets of the state .

The event held on April 5 , 2026 became the talk of the town in recent times owing to how organized, energetic, and thrilling the environment was, as the people also used the opportunity to express their appreciation to the administration of Governor Peter Ndubisi Mbah.

Known for its historic significance as a legendary Igbo cultural spectacle that energizes the streets and makes it a vibrant celebration of peace and heritage, the 2026 edition, with the theme “Tomorrow is Here,” sponsored by Dr. Ibenaku Harford Onoh, turned Enugu into Kano, with over 400,000 people participating to embrace the age-long tradition of Coal Camp dwellers and also showcased their support for the leadership of Barr Peter Ndubisi Mbah.

It was an event that had numerous activities such as dance, masquerade displays, exhibition of different cultural delicacies, and display of cultural attires, among others.

This became the most iconic not because it has not been happening, but because Governor Mbah was involved.

The Coal Camp dwellers came out en masse to show that the crowds eulogized in Kano, Kaduna, and other K-states in Nigeria can also be seen in Enugu, with lots of lovers of the Governor coming to show strength and love with their presence. A clear message was sent: “We love Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah” and he remains our choice come 2027.

This support given to this event by Dr. Onoh, who was there on time, visited every street and gave entertainment support to the stakeholders of each street of coal camp, was also applauded during the event by some leaders of various groups and landlord associations in various streets in Coal Camp where the event took place.

The streets that are associated with Coal Camp include the popular streets Abagana Street, Arochukwu Street, Akunyili Street, Asuquo Brown Street, Bassey Street, Broadrick Street, Calabar Street, Clifford Street, Chukwuani Street, Ejindu Street, Eke Street, Kano Street, Mbanugo Street, Mgbemene Street, Mission Avenue, Nibo Street, Ngwu Street, Ogbete Street, Ogbunike Street, Owa Street, Okpulu Street, Ogwu Street, Ozo Onoh Street, Ozor Ugwu Street, Silver Smith Avenue, Taylor Avenue, Chief Gab Ejim Avenue, Chief Roland Achuwie Street, Colliery Street, Colliery Quarter Crescent, Dr Ernest Ugo Street, and Dr Ifeanyi Eze Street.

Others are Evans Eze Street, Johnson Ukwuani Close, Lambibambi Drive, Living Spring Avenue, Meche Link Road, Ngenevu Zone 2, Nwafor Obubenyi Street, Obeleagu Umana Street, Okwubanego Ude Street, Sonafric Street, Zone H Road, and Zone H Link Road, among others; they were filled with organic human beings who came to celebrate culture and also good governance.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Ibenaku Onoh commended the unity that exists among residents of coal camp, expressing the commitment of the government to continue to deliver good governance to the people.

He noted that the theme for this years Carnival was chosen as a way for the people of coal camp to express their profound appreciation to the Governor for the massive infrastructural developments he has brought to coal camp.

Dr. Onoh also urged the people of coal camp to further deepen their support for the Government of Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah as it is clearly visible to Ndi Enugu that Enugu will record more developmental strides under Dr Mbah’s government.

Many attendees expressed their gratitude for the ongoing projects and improvements in the area and the state.

It was clear that Governor Mbah has earned the love and trust of the people, who came from different parts of Enugu to be part of this historic celebration.

At the end of the day, it was obvious that the 2026 Coal Camp Carnival was more than just an event; it was a symbol of unity, cultural pride, and a shared hope for a brighter tomorrow under the leadership of Governor Mbah.

The memories of this day, with its joy, music, and celebration of tradition, will remain with the people for years to come, for the crowd always seen in Kano was seen more in Enugu in support of one man, Dr. Peter Ndubisi Mbah.
