The Itsekiri Leaders of Thought (ILOT) has expressed profound grief following the death of one of their prominent members, Engr. Victor Wood.
Wood, a former Executive Director of Research, Planning and Statistics on the Board of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), is understood to have passed away in Lagos on Thursday, 2nd April, after a protracted illness.
In a statement issued on Friday, 3rd April, the Chairman of ILOT, Chief Edward Ekpoko, and the Secretary, Sir Amorighoye Sunny Mene, paid tribute to the late engineer, describing him as an accomplished professional in the oil and gas industry and a patriotic Itsekiri who served his nation generously with his personal resources.
While extending their condolences to the Wood family, the Itsekiri leaders expressed optimism that Engr. Wood’s legacy would continue to have a positive impact on the younger generation of Itsekiris for years to come.
