Onitsha FRSC, lovebite fete 1000 less privileged, accident victims, with rice, soft drinks

PHIL OKOSE, Onitsha

The Onitsha Unit of the Federal Road Safety Corps, (FRSC), in conjunction with Lovebite Food and Beverages, Friday showed love by extending their hands of fellowship to the less privileged, accident victims, tricycle operators, among others.

Speaking shortly before the presentation of the cooked rice, drinks and water to the vulnerable ones, the Onitsha Unit Commander, ACC Godwin Odoh, said that the love was in appreciation to the Personnel of the command for the role they played during the last Christmas/new year celebrations for ensuring free flow of traffic.

His words, “Normally every year at the end of operation zero, we appreciate our officers by saying well done.

Normally, the Niger Bridge gridlock doesn’t allow free flow of traffic. So last year we tackled it headlong. All our staff were deployed and they worked day and night.

“So I deemed it necessary that they be appreciated and that is why we are organising this end of year party/dubar.

We call it first quarter dubar. We are doing it in collaboration with a sponsor, Chief Nwosu Innocent, CEO of Lovebite Food and Beverages.

“We share food, cooked rice, water and others to the vulnerable to show love and appreciate them. We go round and share love to them,” he disclosed.

Speaking during the sharing of the gift items in some of the venues, the Public Relations Officer, PRO of Onitsha Unit Command of FRSC, Kenechukwu Kingsley Chidoka, said, “About 1000 less privileged, tricycle operators, accident victims at Toronto hospital and others were presented with the gift items.

“We appreciate the support of the sponsors like Lovebite and others in showing love to the vulnerable.

We appreciate all that joined us today and you can see that the vulnerable people are happy for what we gave them,” he stated.

In his response, the CEO of Lovebite Food and Beverages, Chief Nwosu Innocent, expressed satisfaction with the love shown to the less privileged adding that to love is to share.

The CEO, Innocent, who was ably represented by Mrs Nnenna Okoronkwo, said Lovebite bread is everybody’s delight due to its quality.

Nwosu said the love he extended to the vulnerable will be a continuous exercise since it is aimed at showing love to those who feel they do not belong to the society.

In his contribution, the Manager, Toronto hospital, Osy Mbelu, commended the Onitsha FRSC and Lovebite for extending love of fellowship to the accident victims, patients and staff of the hospital.
