NSUK VC urges 8’604 matriculants to shun social vices, adopt good virtues

The Vice Chancellor of the Nasarawa State University, Keffi, Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman, has urged the newly 8’604 matriculated students of the institute to stay away from any acts that would result to violence or wanton destruction of school properties.

The Vice Chancellor who was represented by the University’s Deputy Vice Chancellor administration, Professor Halima Akwe Doma Kutigi, made the assertion while delivering her speech during this year’s NSUK Matriculation ceremony that took place at the school’s convocation square on Friday.

She urged the students to work hard and engage on productive behaviors inorder to justify the confidence riposte on them during their admission procedures by the university, JAMB, NUC and other professional regulatory bodies.

Her words,” You should know that your character is as important as your academic excellence.

The fact that you have been put under oath you shall not engage in violence or wanton destruction of any university property.

“As new students, you should note that the students’ affairs department is your home and first point of call of any issue that is not academic in nature while your departments, through your levels coordinators are your constituencies.

“I. admonish you to avail yourselves with the University’s students handbook that spells out how you should engage your selves in the university lawfully.

You should equally abreast yourselves with the University’s examination regulations as approved by the Senate and also be well informed about the do’s and don’ts in your learning endeavors.

She continued,”These regulations requires that you shun any act of social vices such as indecent dressing, sexual harassment, examination malpractices, fraudulent substitution of marks and above all cultism.

“In conclusion,I appreciate the chairman and the members of the University’s admission committee,the dean of students affairs, the Senate and the principal officers of the university for their support and understanding during the 2025/2026 admissions and registration exercise.
