This misconception has kept many Christians from desiring financial abundance with a Godly mindset. However, the Bible makes it clear that wealth, when aligned with Kingdom principles, is a tool for God’s purposes. Kingdom wealth is not about greed; it is about responsibility, stewardship, and impact.
BISHOP OKWUDILI EZE OUTLINED 5 KEY REASONS WHY KINGDOM WEALTH IS NECESSARY.
1. To Advance God’s Kingdom on Earth
The gospel is free, but its spread is not. Evangelism, missions, church planting, and media outreach require resources. From printing Bibles to streaming services, every aspect of ministry demands funding.
“My cities shall again spread through prosperity; the Lord will again comfort Zion”
Zechariah 1:17 NKJV).
“The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine, says the Lord of hosts” (Haggai 2:8).
When believers lack financial resources, the gospel suffers. Wealth in the hands of Kingdom-minded believers accelerates the fulfillment of the Great Commission.
2. To Break the Cycle of Poverty and Its Shame Poverty is not a virtue, nor is it proof of piety. It limits potential, breeds frustration, and often leads to compromise. God delights in lifting His children from poverty to a position of influence.
Psalm 113:7-8 (NKJV): “He raises the poor out of the dust, and lifts the needy out of the ash heap, that He may seat him with princes, with the princes of His people.”
God wants His children to rise above lack so they can live with dignity and impact their world positively.
3. To Fund Humanitarian and Charitable Works
God blesses His people so they can bless others. Kingdom wealth enables believers to provide for the needy, support widows and orphans, and extend practical love to the hurting.
Proverbs 19:17 (NKJV): “He who has pity on the poor lends to the Lord, and He will pay back what he has given.”
4. To Influence Culture and Systems for God
Influence follows resources. In a world driven by economics, those who control resources shape policies, media, and education. For the Church to influence culture with Kingdom values, believers must occupy economic gates.
5. To Fulfill Covenant Promises
God’s covenant with Abraham includes prosperity (Genesis 12:2-3). Through Christ, we are heirs of that promise (Galatians 3:29). Wealth in the Kingdom is part of our inheritance and a manifestation of God’s faithfulness.
Deuteronomy 8:18: “It is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant.” Prosperity is a covenant sign, not for pride, but for God’s glory.
