A Special Jumat Prayer Session was held today at the National Mosque, Abuja, to mark the formal commencement of the tenure of the 35th President of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Engr. Ali Alimasuya Rabiu.
The prayer session, which formed part of activities surrounding his forthcoming investiture at the Aso Rock tomorrow, was attended by prominent engineers and leaders within the profession, who gathered to seek divine guidance, wisdom and success for the new administration.
The atmosphere was solemn yet hopeful, reflecting the collective expectation for purposeful leadership and renewed progress within the engineering sector.
Engr. Rabiu was accompanied to the mosque by several distinguished fellows and executives of the Society, including the Past President’s Engr. Kashim Ali FNSE, Engr. Sa’ad Gidari Wudil; Engr. Lanre Shagaya, FNSE; the Director-General of the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency, Engr. Abdulrahman, President of the Association of Consulting Engineers of Nigeria (ACEN), Engr. Kamselem Burkar; and Engr. Kabir Wanori, FNSE.
Also present were the Vice President of the NSE, Engr. Tijani; Prof. Abdulrahman Asipita, FNSE; Chairman of the Planning and Implementation Committee, Engr. Kamila Wopa, as well as Engr. Ibrahim Aliyu, Engr. Dauda Musa,Engr. Dauda Mohammed, Engr. Nurudeen Musa; Engr. Dayyabu Tijani, Engr. M. B. Shettima, Engr. Sharadeen Olumo, Engr. Alisha Mustafa Umara and Engr. Zakari Ayitogo, among others.
Prayers offered during the session focused on national development, unity within the engineering profession and the success of the new NSE leadership in advancing professional standards, innovation and infrastructure development in Nigeria.
The special prayer marks the beginning of Engr. Rabiu’s presidency setting a reflective and values-driven tone for his tenure as he assumes responsibility for leading one of the country’s most influential professional bodies.
