AHMED MARI, Maiduguri
A faction of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), in Borno state, led by Hon Umar Bolori, has described the transition and membership registration Committee inaugurated by its party chieftain, Alhaji Kashim Imam as null and void.
Briefing journalists at Nannie & Boi Hotel Maiduguri, the factional State Working Transition Committee Chairman, Hon. Umar Bolori said “the so-called purported transition and membership registration Committee inaugurated by Alhaji Kashim Imam is null and void.”
He said the ADC “is the coalition party we all agreed to form and nobody would be allowed to single handedly decide for the stakeholders of the party”.
“I call on one of our leaders Alhaji Kashim Imam to retrace his steps, as nobody would be allowed to single handedly decide for the party, as a transition chairman. I am not aware of any inauguration of transition and membership registration Committee. The transition committee inaugurated by Alhaji Kashim Imam is hereby declared null and void”, he stated.
Bolori said “I hereby call on Imam to follow the party constitution, as failure to do so, we would follow any constitutional way to reject it. The party is for all stakeholders and any decision should be consultative”.
The transition committee chairman accused Imam of sending thugs to disrupt the party meeting held at Barwee Hotels, stressing that they should use any legal means to ensure nobody becomes a stumbling block for the party.
He therefore called on all law-abiding members to remain calm, as the party leadership is taking necessary step to address the issue.
