Thanksgiving is a way by which people express appreciation to God, Allah, Nature and to individuals for favours and blessings obtained from them over a period of time.
Appreciation when expressed gladdens the heart of the person to who it is expressed and also relieves the heart of the person expressing the appreciation the burden of ingratitude and opens the door of more blessings to him
It is , therefore, not an uncommon sight to see business men and women, notable, individuals and politicians doing Thanksgiving in Churches, Mosques, shrines and any other places designated for thanksgiving with merry making in any community.
That is what happened at Umuohi Okija, Anambra State, on Saturday, January 10, 2026 when Ichie Ken Abig Chimezie Nwankwo, the Group Managing Director (GMD ), Bigly Group of Companies, consummated his recent Owelle Of Okija coronation with lavish thanksgiving and merry making.
The event which began at 2 pm as thanksgiving but later translated into grande celebration attracted large crowd of people including friends and well wishers of the celebrant, Abig, Emeka Chukwudumeje, (Odumeje), Ike Idemili High Chief Emeka Agbanari (Seaman), Honorable House of Representatives Member, Pascal Agbodike, Obi Cubana and Cubana High Priest, His Royal Highness Eze Chukwudi Ihenetu, Eze Ohazurunye 1 , Eze Igbo’ na Ghana, His Royal Highness Otis Anyaeji, Eze Igbo’ na Abuja, members of Big Brothers, traditional rulers, associations and business associations, among so many others.
Speaking on the occasion, Owelle Okija said the event was to thank God for his blessings so far in his life.
The president General Umuohi, Sir Uche Nnubia the Obi-in-Council, Ichie Dom Awogu expressed Joy on the coronation of Abig Nwankwo as Owelle and prayed for his continued success.
Eze Igbo’ Na Abuja, in an interview with Daily Champion, urged Owelle Okija to continue to be honest, sincere, as he prayed for Ichie Nwankwo.
Ichie Nwankwo described the event as successful.
“I am happy. The event was a hundred percent successful. I thank everybody who graced the occasion. I wish you all journey mercy as you go back to your various homes”, Owelle Okija said.
