FALF spends $1.5m on African youths to promote devt

The Loveworld Incorporation, through the Future Africa Leaders Foundation, FALF has injected not less than $1.5million on Future Africa Leaders Awards, FALA over the past 13 years.

The President of FALA, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, has devoted considerable funds in promoting young persons across African continent as future leaders.

The amount expended was disclosed on Monday, 4th December, 2025, at GRA, Ikeja, Lagos during a press conference.

The award ceremony had taken place on December 31st, 2025 where people joined from all over the world.

It was at the ceremony that 10 FALA winners emerged out of 30 projects from over 1000 entries across Africa.

The special guest of honour was the immediate past president of the Republic of Kenya, President Uhuru Kenyata, and the chairman of FALA, former president of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo.

Speaking at the press conference, Member, Central Executive Council, Loveworld Incorporated, Pastor T.T. Temisan said, “The winners of the Future Africa Leaders Award will make tremendous impact on the world and the African continent.”

He disclosed, “On the 31st night, I met one of the former Star Prize winners, Rose Sakala. She has been involved in politics in her country, Malawi. She was at Iran for four days. She has been involved in policy making in her nation of Malawi.”

He revealed that through FALA, the winners have been impacting the continent from their countries. “Quite a lot of them have been involved at national level in their countries, changing policies.

“We had a report from Togo, or one of the leaders, because of his award, the Minister of Youth and Development, invited him in 2025, after it was prepared, it was sent to the committee, and for him to also put in his recommendations, so his recommendations form part of the youth policy in the Republic of Togo. So FALA has actually been a stepping stone for these young people in gaining and for global recognition. There are a lot of them here in Nigeria.”

Pastor Temisan added that one of the leaders in Nigeria has been involved in voter registration drives and also has been an election observers.

“He has a status that he’s been given for national elections, and the conferences that he has held, raising awareness across young people, especially protecting their vote, getting involved in the civic responsibility of voting and has been well noted in the country.

“FALA is actually a door opener to greater, bigger things. It’s a pushing global viewership because of the stage that it’s on, 31st December stage with the man of God that has a global viewership in millions.

“Over the 13 editions of FALA, Pastor Chris has given over $1.5 million as award prize money. It’s good money well spent. This prize money or award money is to the tune of $25,000 for the prize winner.

“Last year was no different, $125,000. So, this prize money is used by the award winners to improve and increase the work that they do. So it’s not just an award, it’s a star prize which can do a lot of work in the projects that you’ve worked with.

“FALA is an international awards night without limitation or bias concerning nation, concerning religious affiliations.

“FALA has had winners from South Africa, Morocco, Libya, Egypt, South Sudan, Sudan, Cameroon, Nigeria, Kenya, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Namibia, Benin Republic, Togo, Ghana, Sierra Leone and this prize money is to the tune of $25,000.”

Senior Executive Officer of FALA, Dr Olajumoke Ola-Akinsanya, thanked the Founder and Grand Patron of Future Africa Leaders Foundation, Pastor Oyakhilome.

She noted, “As our Founder has affirmed, Africa is one of the most blessed continents on Earth. If we harness what God has placed here in Africa, we will not need handouts. We will become a blessing to the world.

“Today, these winners stand as proof. Where the need has been greatest, they chose action. Where there was hopelessness, they created opportunity. Where there were challenges, they saw possibilities.

“In FALF, we believe that true leadership is anchored in values, accountability to the people, and guided by purpose. We encourage our youth to innovate boldly, advocate justly, and serve responsibly, building institutions that are strong, transparent, and compassionate.

“This is exactly what the Future Africa Leaders Foundation exists to support. We match belief with investment, potential with mentoring, and vision with opportunity so that African-led transformation can flourish.

“Africa’s hope will not be imported. It will be cultivated by young minds who dare to think differently, collaborate courageously, and lead with integrity.”

Coordinator of FALA, Pastor Arinze Emmanuel said, “You look at the work of the young people across Africa at the end of the year, you see that the impact is not just much, it is superb.

“I encourage everyone around the world, across Africa, leaders, politicians, corporate bodies and all of them to be a part of this great work, to encourage young people from our nations across Africa,

“FALA is being supported by the Foundation. Money has been given and supporting them further encourages them. They are the ones who are not looking for what the country can do for them but they are inspiring other young people to be a part of it

The ten winners for FALA are Ambassador, Rejoice Waithera – Kenya (Star Prize Winner), Ambassador Francis Nyong – Nigeria, Ambassador Yvonne Tsumbirani – Zimbabwe, Ambassador Norman Chrispine Phiri- Zambia and Ambassador Josue- Benin Republic.

The rest are: Ambassador Abraham Ogbeche- Nigeria, Ambassador Rose Charles Kuba- South Sudan, Ambassador Grace Ndagire – Uganda, Ambassador Prince Amenpeni- Ghana and Ambassador Annette Ewusi- Cameroon.

The prize winner, Waithera is a 23-year-old Kenyan visionary, agripreneur, and humanitarian who demonstrates her commitment to national development through innovative solutions in food security, waste management, and community health.

Responding to the growing concerns about GMO maize, she produced SOCAMI flour. A nutritious blend of sorghum, cassava, and millet is a safe, sustainable alternative. Her advocacy with the Ministry of Agriculture led to the inclusion of indigenous crops on the Kenya Cereals and Produce Board platform, influencing policy discussions and benefiting over 20,000 consumers nationwide.

Driven by a passion for organic farming, Rejoice transformed an abandoned dump site in Kibera into a productive greenhouse, improving waste management and promoting organic food production. Through hands-on training programs, she has equipped over 10,000 students with organic farming skills, fostering youth empowerment and environmental stewardship.

To address chronic water scarcity and sanitation challenges, Rejoice constructed a borehole that now supplies clean water to 20,000 families, along with toilets and bathrooms that reduced open defecation, minimized waterborne diseases, and improved menstrual hygiene for women and girls.

Her plastic recycling project created jobs for more than 60 families, positively impacting over 50,000 community members, and was recognized as the “Waste Recycling Project of the Year.”

Her compassion extends to supporting children battling cancer, sponsoring the education of 31 students, and conducting uplifting outreach activities at Kenyatta Hospital.
Rejoice Waithera is restoring dignity, strengthening systems, and delivering practical solutions that are reshaping communities and advancing sustainable development in Africa.
