The assistant inspector general of police, zone 16 headquarters, Yenagoa, AIG Johnson Oluwole Adenola, psc, on monday formally decorated Chief Superintendent of police (CSP) Ebimini Karaemi David following his recent promotion.
While addressing officers, community leaders, and invited guests at the ceremony, AIG Adenola described the event as a symbolic way of beginning the new year on a positive note.
“He emphasized that promotion is by the grace of God, noting that promotion comes from God; it is the Lord’s doing, the AIG further reminded the newly promoted officer that elevation in rank comes with greater responsibility.”
He recalled CSP Ebimini’s dedication and hard work while serving as an orderly and escort, stressing that the new position as a senior federal officer requires even more commitment.
“Do not think you have arrived, he cautioned, you are now entrusted with greater responsibilitie,s you must redouble your efforts, work harder, and leave a lasting impact as an ambassador of the Nigeria police force.”
AIG Adenola also highlighted the importance of inclusive policing, noting that effective policing in the current era requires strong collaboration with community leaders to ensure the safety of lives and property.
He advised community leaders to be cautious during police recruitment exercises, urging them to recommend only diligent, humble, and hardworking individuals, and to carefully consider anyone for whom they stand as guarantors.
In his response, CSP Ebimini Karaemi David expressed profound gratitude to God for the promotion and decoration, he acknowledged that many officers sat for the promotion examination, but not all were successful thank God for his grace,” he said, while praying for renewed strength and wisdom to discharge his duties diligently and to continue serving the nation with dedication.
Speaking on behalf of the community, the paramount ruler of Ogboinbiri community, chief Benson Eseimokumo Okosaghe, said the community came to celebrate one of their own.
He described CSP Ebimini as a disciplined objective, and straightforward officer who does not compromise standards,he is a man of integrity, the monarch stated, pray that one day we will see him rise to the rank of commissioner of police in the future.
