The 2025 edition of the Love-Bite Annual National Mathematics Competition begins today with thousands of young mathematical minds from across Nigeria converging at Nnobi, Anambra State, to compete for the country’s most coveted academic title.
Organised by the Love-Bite Education Initiative, the competition is aimed at discovering and nurturing exceptional talents in the fields of mathematics, logic, and problem-solving, as this year’s event is expected to be the largest, drawing participants from all 36 states and the FCT.
According to the organisers, the 2025 competition introduces improved evaluation systems, digital-based testing, and advanced problem-solving modules aimed at raising the standard of learning and preparing Nigerian students for international mathematics Olympiads.
Speaking to Champion Newspaper at the Love bite corporate head office in Nnobi, Anambra State, MD and CEO of Love bite, Mr Innocent Okwudili Nwosu, described the competition as “a platform where excellence meets opportunity,” noting that past winners have gone on to secure scholarships and represent Nigeria at global events.
“We are committed to building a generation of thinkers, innovators, and leaders through mathematics,” Mr Nwosu said.
Parents, educators, and academic stakeholders have praised the competition for its consistency and impact on Nigeria’s educational landscape. Many predict that the 2025 edition will set a new benchmark for academic contests in the country.
The event, which runs for three days, will culminate in a grand finale where national champions will emerge in junior and senior categories.
As the competition begins today, the spotlight is firmly on the students, as young problem-solvers ready to prove their brilliance and compete for glory in the nation’s most celebrated mathematics championship.
