Guests arrived at the venue of the Dinner and Award Night with the ladies dressed gorgeously and the men wearing beautifully tailored suits and well ironed Nigerian outfits, a study in elegance and dignity.
They walked into an atmosphere of beautiful lights, well- decorated hall pulsating with soft serenading music.
This was Carabana at 10, Dinner and Award Night and the CEO of the lounge and bar , Chief Promise Nwobu, did not disappoint.
The guests were feted with mouth watering Continental, inter- Continental and Nigerian dishes for which Carabana has long been known for.
The Dinner and Award Night was the climax of a 6-day schedule of events carefully planned to mark the hospitality outlet’s 10 years Anniversary.
The Anniversary activities first commenced with a charity event termed Hospital outreach, on Tuesday October 21st, followed by a Novelty Match, an All White Party on Wednesday October 22nd and then the Dinner and Award Night.
Chief Promise Nwobu, the CEO of this delightful house of entertainment sited at 16, Baale Shekoni Street, Ajao Estate, Lagos , explained that He and his team decided to put together the 6 -day event plan in order to reward staff, loyal customers, vendors and friends who have supported the venture right from inception.
Chief Nwobu easily admits that he did not build the brand Carabana alone thus the decision to recognize and reward partners.

The Award and Dinner Night was a night of awards, food, dance, music and fun. Chief Nwobu fondly called “Ogede” Ijele by friends and Associates was ushered in by masquerades to the thrill and excitement of guests. His nickname Ijele means masquerade.
The young CEO who is a graduate of Geological Sciences from Nnamdi Azikiwe University but with a passion for entertainment and hospitality right from childhood, immediately moved from table to table greeting guests, with handshakes, hugs and smiles.
Awards were presented in different categories some of the winners include Best Bar Tender of the decade won by Mr. Taiwo, Best waitress in the lounge, Ajayi Busayo and Best Electrician of the decade won by Mr. Ifeanyi Charles.
There were other award categories like Most Consistent couple of the decade won by Mr and Mrs Uzoma Charles, Carabana Diaspora customer of the decade which was clinched by Mr. Chinedu Okonta Okosisi.
There was also a hall of fame awards for about 15 customers who stood solidly behind the brand when fire gutted it some few years back.
These individuals helped to get Carabana back on its feet and they were recognized and celebrated.
Other activities lined up for the celebration include Heritage Night with Martel today, Friday 25th, , Live Band performance and big 10 party with Hennessy Saturday 26th,
Then on Sunday 27th , it will culminate with a Thanksgiving in the morning and a Royal Party with Jack Daniel’s at night.

Carabana Celebrates 10th Anniversary with Heritage Night.
Carabana continued it’s celebration of ever supporting partners, customers and staff Friday night with the Heritage Night.
It was basically a celebration of Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage and values.
Chief Executive officer of Carabana Lounge, Chief Promise Nwobu is called “the modern masquerade because he is someone who loves and values the Nigerian and in particular, his Igbo cultural heritage.
The Heritage Night featured colourful masquerade displays, traditional dancing and musical groups as well as traditional musical instrument music .
Guests were thrilled with the various cultural displays and folklore music which transported some back to their villages.
Chief Nwobu did not forget to honor his hosts as the cultural display included the Yoruba popular talking drums and local dancers who sang the praises of some of the celebrities that graced the event.
Explaining why they had to include a heritage night into the 10th Anniversary celebration of Carabana, Mr. Udochukwu Favour Obioma, the event co-ordinator of the 10th Anniversary explained that Nigeria being a nation of culture, “we had to integrate culture into our celebrations.
When we talk about culture, we talk about values. We are proud of our Nigerian and Igbo heritage in Carabana”.
Many of the guests said they were thrilled and delighted to watch the scintillating masquerade performances and dance troupes.
All in all, it was a night to remember and as the hospitality outfit continues it’s celebrations, many customers prayed that the brand will continue to prosper and expand.
