Engr. (Dr.) Atinuke Wuraola Owolabi, FNSE, FNIEEE (née Agbaje), has expressed profound gratitude to His Excellency, President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for her appointment as a Member of the North Central Development Commission (NCDC), representing the South West region.
Speaking after her swearing-in, Engr. Owolabi described the appointment as a rare privilege and a profound call to serve. She emphasized that the task ahead is a collective mission, requiring teamwork with other Board members, Ministries, and stakeholders under the Renewed Hope Agenda to deliver tangible development to the people of the North Central region and Nigeria at large.
A Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) and the Nigerian Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (NIEEE), Engr. Owolabi has made a remarkable impact through her leadership of the Association of Professional Women Engineers of Nigeria (APWEN Lagos Chapter). She has pioneered initiatives including innovation hubs, grassroots STEM education, mentorship for female engineers, and digital skills training for young people.
She pledged to bring this same spirit of innovation, collaboration, and service into her new role, with focus areas including infrastructure, health, agriculture, education, renewable energy, and digital inclusion. She also emphasized her commitment to ensuring women and youth are at the center of the Commission’s development agenda.
Engr. Owolabi reaffirmed her loyalty and dedication to the vision of President Tinubu’s administration, assuring that by God’s grace, the Commission will deliver on its mandate and transform lives across the region.
