Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang has stated that the state have left behind the valley of retrogression and indecision as Plateau matching towards a destination ordained by God Almighty.
Mutfwang reaffirms that Plateau is destined for glory as the challenges currently encounter is a temporary afflictions.
The governor who made the proclamation during his 2nd years anniversary in office thanksgiving service, held on Thursday at the Polo field, Jos, said God has been gracious and merciful to his administration as He shown mercy they did not deserved.
“But in His sovereign Providence, He choose to show mercy to whom He desired and made us the candidates of his mercy and allowed us the privilege of access to this position of leadership-not because we merited it or because we are extraordinary, but because he destined it to be so at this time.
“I thanked Plateau people for not only entrusting me with the responsibility of watching over this state as a God’s number one watchman but also for standing by me, supporting me, and encouraging me.”
Governor Mutfwang expressed optimism that despite giants and forces of darkness against the state, he is persuaded that Plateau is a state set on a hill that cannot be hidden. Calling on the citizens to always been at the side of prayers.
“Plateau is destined for glory-and no will take her back. By the grace of God, we will March on to where He has destined us.
“We have come to say thank you Lord, for your enablement, for what you have already begun. And as the Bible says, we must not despise the days of small beginnings. What we have seen so far is just the beginning”, the governor assured.
Taking his exhortation from 1 Kings 3:4-5, the guest preacher, Rev. Dr. Nicholas Thompson revealed that Plateau is facing all manner of unrest due those that had evil agenda against the state, encourage the governor to remain resolute and courageous.
“Do not relent. Continue to raise the banner of good governance. Let Plateau become the city set on a hill that cannot be hidden. Let the nation look upon this land and give glory to God.”
Former Military Governor of Plateau, Admiral Samuel Atukum retired tasked security agencies to redouble their efforts to unrivaled criminal elements in the state.
According to him, “This is a call not just for action, but for visible outcomes. Let there be evidence that those who threaten the peace of Plateau have been apprehended and are being brought to justice.”
The president Plateau State traditional council of Chiefs and Emirs, His Royal Majesty, Gbong Gwom Jos Da Jacob Buba while applauding Governor Mutfwang’s leadership prowess, charged the governor to do more as the traditional class and other citizens are solidly aligned with the governor.
