Abia State Governor, Dr Alex Otti, has congratulated the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in the State, Rev. Ojo Ojo Uduma, and his wife, Rev. and Mrs. Uduma, on their thirty-year priesthood and twenty-fifth marriage anniversary.
Speaking at the Evangelical Church Winning All, ECWA, opposite the Ogbonnaya Onu Polytechnic Aba on Sunday, Governor Otti commended the celebrants for sticking to their divine call in God’s vineyard and allowing the Almighty God use them as instruments in spreading the Christian fellowship.
The Governor, represented by his Chief of Staff, Pastor Caleb Ajagba, attributed his administration’s successes in all facets of the state economy to the support and prayers of churches.
He added that his administration is making enormous sacrifices for the overall good and development of the state.
He lauded Rev. Uduma and his wife for their passion for knowledge and spiritual growth, which has set them apart and made them a beacon of excellence among their peers.
Speaking, the Abia State CAN Chairman, Rev. Ojo Ojo Uduma recounted his missionary journey and described his personal life as a testament to God’s faithfulness and the transformative power of faith, dedication, and divine calling.
The cleric explained that his priesthood service is marked by relentless dedication to church planting and pastoral leadership.
He appreciated Governor Alex Otti, the church, CAN, and all who came to celebrate with his family.
He underscored the need for love, peace, tolerance, understanding, unity, harmony, and the state’s security to allow room for ongoing development and transformation.
“We pray for His Excellency, Dr Alex Otti, the governor of Abia State, that his good work will continue to showcase the state as God’s Own State,” the clergyman added.
He assured that CAN under his leadership would sustain its prayers for the governor and the people of the state to enable him to achieve his dreams for the State.
Rev Uduma, who is also the Chairman of Aba District of Evangelical Church Winning All, ECWA, which covers Cross River, Akwa Ibom, parts of Rivers, Imo, and Abia State, said he would do his job well and sensitize Christians in the state accordingly.
The ceremony, which featured renewal of marital vows, prayer for the celebrants, cutting of anniversary cake, and choral renditions, attracted the presence of the Special Assistant to the Governor on Religious Affairs, Apostle Kenneth Wiper, the Anglican Archbishop of Aba Ecclesiastical Province and Bishop of Isiala Ngwa South, His Grace, The Most Rev. Isaac Nwobia, the clergy, and top government officials, among other distinguished personalities.
