The immediate past Commissioner for Information in Ondo State, Hon Wale Akinlosotu on Tuesday lauded Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for the recent approval for various landmark developmental projects across the state.
These projects include the construction and dualization of Akure–Idanre Road; housing project; construction of buildings and the renovation of all the technical colleges, Unity Secondary schools and some selected public secondary schools; and the construction of Omuro International Market at Ode-Ugbo.
Akinlosotu in a statement in Akure, the State capital said “these projects will contribute majorly to the transformation of the state across various sectors of the economy and indicative of the development that the state will witness in the next four years”.
The former commissioner said, “Looking at the recent approvals in addition to the various programmes, projects and policies that the governor had embarked upon across different sectors since he assumed office in February and the plans for the tenure as contained in the electoral promises, our people can be doubly sure of all round development in the Sunshine State in the next four years”.
According to him, “construction and dualisation of Akure-Idanre Road will ease transportation to and from the rock city. I hail the governor for the approval which speaks volumes of his interest in the development and promotion of the tourism potentials in Idanre and indeed all parts of the state.
“It will also boost movement of persons and goods, particularly agricultural and cash crops including cocoa from Idanre. The governor’s nod for the construction and dualisation of the road is a welcome and praiseworthy development,” Akinlosotu stressed.
The former commissioner lauded Aiyedatiwa administration’s stance on ensuring affordable and qualitative housing scheme for the state, adding that the approval for the construction of 32 terraced four-bedroom apartments at Alagbaka, Akure, was a step in the right direction.
He also praised the EXCO approval targeted at boosting commercial activities and residents’ economy which he said the nod for the construction of Omuro International Market at Ode-Ugbo represents.
He added that approval for the construction of a concrete sedimentation tank at Aboto and the construction of Concrete landing walkways in various riverine communities were noteworthy and would improve quality of lives of residents of the riverine areas.
Akinlosotu said the approvals for construction of buildings and renovation of secondary schools and technical colleges was in fulfilment of Aiyedatiwa’s electoral promises to transform education in the state by ensuring pupils study under a conducive environment in schools which are as well equipped with state of the art equipment.
