As Christians world over have been charged to exhibit the spirit of unconditional love among one another as they celebrate this Year’s Easter Anniversary.
The Dean of Cabinet, Southern Conference United Methodist Church (UMC), Rev. Dr. Philip Micah Dopah gave the charge in Jalingo during his Easter message to Christians.
He totally condemned the killings of residents of Benue and Plateau and other states, describing the act as inhumanity to man.
The Rev. Micah Dopah expressed dismay on the government being more concerned about 36 cows than human beings, blaming the ugly situation on the current leaders, while over 100 human lives were slaughtered and yet there was no action by President Bola Tinubu’s led administration.
He further expressed dismay over the lukewarm attitude of present Nigerian leaders, called on residents of Benue and Plateau and other states to intensify prayers against the enemies in their lands.
“President Tinubu should rise up to his responsibilities as leader and not tour the whole world when his country was on fire.
“I can’t understand a leader moving round the world when hundreds of its citizens are slaughtered on a daily basis, yet he was not touched on the blood flowing every day in his country”, he stated.
On the significance of Easter Celebration by Christians, Rev. Dopah who also doubles as Interim Secretary, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Taraba State Chapter expressed gratitude to God to witness yet another Easter.
According to him, Christians across the globe believed in the important event, considering the resurrection of Jesus Christ and his representation on earth.
He emphasized that the identity of Christ reflects on love, peace, unity of mankind among others, stressing that forgiveness and salvation was key for Christ which signifies power over death.
“Christians should always maintain a righteous life and sanctification to one another were hope, encouragement should strive above other things to inherit eternal life- he said.
