Gov. Yusuf warns contractors against sub-standard work, inspects projects

 

 

The Executive Governor of Kano State Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, as soon as he arrived at the airport from Morocco, begun inspecting projects before reaching Government House.

The Governor and his entourage stopped after the airport gate and Inspected the road under construction, making suggestions that the road should look smooth attaining global standard with green at both sides.

This was contained in a press statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mustapha Muhammad, Wednesday, 16th, 2025.

“The road should look smooth and attain to global best practices, there should be green at both sides,” Abba Kabir Yusuf said.

The Governor cautioned contractors that he insists on high standards and demands excellent, quality work without compromise.

“I trust this company, but I must stress that I don’t tolerate any compromise on quality – contractors must meet standards, regardless of how close you are to me,” Abba Kabir Yusuf warned the contractors at the roundabout of the airport road.

The Governor stopped at Lodge Road roundabout on his way to Government House and directed that the center of the roundabout should be landscaped and beautified, particularly around the street lights.

“You have to grow trees at 6 Meters interval and in between should be adorned with beautiful grasses towards the street lights.” He stated.

He strongly advised that fountain should be formed at the round about.

On his way to the government house, the Governor detoured to inspect the mosque under construction, where he gave directives on modifications and improvements to the structure and its surroundings.

He directed the Kano state commissioner of works Engr. Marwan Ahmad, to ensure compliance of all the suggestions and amendments.

The governor is making a design that would make Kano government house have a good look, suggesting that the gate should be in and out, pointing out the demarcation the engineers would make to achieve that.

“You should erect a wall and measure the same lengths and create another gate.”

The Governor, walked straight to the Africa House and inspected ongoing renovation work, showcasing his hands-on approach to governance and commitment to development projects in the state.

Having previously served as Commissioner of Works, the Governor possesses in-depth knowledge and experience in road construction and infrastructure development.

Abba Kabir Yusuf, is always concerned about quality and standards, that’ is why he always inspects on-going projects.

Despite a long, tiring more than 10-hour flight to Kano, the Governor appeared refreshed and energetic while inspecting the projects, showing no signs of fatigue.

Abba Kabir Yusuf, was just back from Morocco where he was conferred with an award as the best African Governor of the Year.
