2027 Presidential poll: FCT APC assures Tinubu, of 100% votes to ensure his re-election

Cyril Mbah,  Abuja.

Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have assured President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of 100 percent votes in the territory during the 2027 presidential election to ensure that the president secures landslide victory in the polls.

Several speakers at a one-day rally organised by the Abuja APC chapter at the Old Parade Ground on Thursday told supporters that the party has been working very hard to ensure victory and will clearly take the entire chairmanship and councillorship positions in the February 2026 FCT polls to tip the present balance which gave the APC and the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) three area councils each out of the six councils in the territory.

Organisers of the political event, which drew so much crowd and turned into a carnival-like procession with several drummers and dancers, banner bearers and flag waving youths, stated that the rally was put together to drum-up support for the reelection of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and victory for the APC which performed poorly in the territory in the 2023 general election.

The National Chairman of the APC,  Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, who was one of the speakers, promised the opposition parties pleasant surprises in the planned FCT election pointing out that the six area councils will come under the leadership of the ruling party.

Ganduja promised that the APC will engage in what he described as political liberation to free the six area councils from bad governance and lack of direction.

“When we went into a meeting with  stakeholders of the party in the FCT,  they made two simple requests to the party and one request was that the territory should come under the leadership of the ruling party. We have considered the request and we are working hard to make it happen.

“The stakeholders also demanded that  indigenes of the territory should be appointed minister and I am proud that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has fulfilled the promise by appointing Hon. Bitrus Jisalo, a former chairman of AMAC as Minister for Special Duties.

With the fulfillment of this promise, the youths and women and all the voters should thank Mr. President by voting for APC in the next election,” Ganduje said.

Deputy Senate President,  Senator Jibrin Barau, while also speaking at the occasion said, “FCT voters will make Mr. President proud by ensuring that their votes are made available to the APC.

We are going to change the narrative in the FCT where we used to have problems during elections. We are going to make FCT people proud and we will make Mr. president proud.

It will be a landslide victory for the APC. The president has done well and we urge you all to join him in making Nigeria great again,” Barau pleaded even as he urged Nigerians to be patient with the party and the president because “Rome was not built in one day.”
