Troops of 6 divisions in, the Nigerian army have recovered over 1.2 million Litres of stolen crude oil in it’s recent operations across the creeks of the Niger Delta region.
According to the spokesman of the 6 division, Lieutenant Colonel Danjuma Jonah, the operations that were conducted from 25th November to 1st December led to the deactivation of over 56 illegal oil bunkering camps and 88 cooking drums and 20-speed boats.
Danjuma also noted that 17 suspected oil Thieves, seven vehicles were also captured during the operations.
He added that six illegal connection points and five motor cycles used to perpetrate the economic crimes were destroyed.
The operations according to Danjuma were carried out in Bayelsa, Rivers and Delta States with the help of sister agencies.
Reacting, the General Officer Commanding, GOC, 6 Division, Nigerian Army, Major General Jamal Abdussalam commended the troops for a huge onslaught against illegal oil bunkering in the oil-rich region.
