Kaduna: Army conducts field exercise, advises residents not to panic

 

 

The 1 Division Nigerian Army Kaduna, says it will conduct field training exercises for its troops, advising the residents not to panic but go about their normal activities.

The division’s acting  Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, Lt.-Col. Musa Yahaya, announced this in a statement issued on Wednesday in Kaduna.

Yahaya said that  the division’s Training School would conduct its final field training exercise for Basic Battle Course 8 from November  11-15.

According to him, the exercise will be conducted within its training area around the schools’ premises in Dalet Cantonment .

He said, ”The exercise is designed to test the students’ shooting ability and physical fitness which will ascertain their preparedness into real life battle.”

Yahaya added that the field training exercise would include the use of blank ammunition and pyrotechnics to simulate real time battle situations both in the day and at night.

“Formations, units and locals living around the Division’s Training School will observe tactical drills which involve firing blank ammunition and pyrotechnics during this period.

“Residents in the units and formations of the Division’s General Area of Responsibility are therefore advised not to panic and go about their normal daily routine activities without fear.

“They are however advised to report any breach of security to the 1 Division Headquarters.

“We sincerely apologize and plead for your understanding during the period of the exercise, “he said.

Yahaya appealed to the public, particularly the inhabitants of the general area to avoid fear and unnecessary panic.
