Senator Adams Aliyu Eric Oshiomhole has vehemently dismissed claims of alleged conflict of interests within the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State over the nomination of persons who will serve in the incoming government. The senator pointed out that the alleged tension over the sharing of cabinet positions in the anticipated administration of Senator Monday Okpebholo was a mere speculation.
In a statement circulated to newsmen in Abuja, Oshiomhole’s Chief of Staff, Comrade Victor Oshioke, described the allegations as baseless and a desperate ploy by the Edo State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to destabilize the APC following its recent election victory.
Oshioke explained that the PDP resorted to fabricating stories in a futile attempt to create division within the incoming APC administration.
He quoted Senator Oshiomhole as saying that Al is well with the Party emphasizing that no discord exists within the APC leadership.
“As a former governor, Oshiomhole fully supports the incoming governor’s right to independently select his team and has confidence in Senator Okpebholo’s capacity to appoint competent individuals who will advance Edo’s development.
“Oshiomhole urges all APC members to stay focused on unity, ignore such fabrications and prepare to support the governor-elect in providing Edo State with the effective and responsive governance that has been absent over the last eight years,” the statement concluded.
