The People’s Redemption Party, PRP, on Friday filed the nomination for her Presidential candidate, as well as candidates for the National Assembly.
The PRP National Chairman, Alhaji Falalu Bello, who announced this in an official statement, stated that the party has successfully filed candidates for the Presidential and National Assembly Elections, ahead of the June 17 deadline by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
In a statement entitled:”2023: PRP Files Presidential Candidate and National Assembly”, Alhaji Bello said as at the close of INEC nomination portal on June 17, the party filed the nomination of Mr. Latifu Kolawale Abiola as its Presidential Candidate in addition to 204 candidates for National Assembly elections”.
“The candidates include 42 Senatorial candidates and 162 candidates for the House of Representatives, all from the six geographical zones of the country.
“We would like to congratulate INEC for bringing technology into the electoral process which has enabled all political parties to file nomination papers from the comforts of their respective offices without physically carrying nomination papers to INEC as has hitherto been the practice.” he said.
“It is worthy of note that PRP, as the oldest surviving political party in Nigeria, believes in Five Fundamental Principles which include the Value and Equality of Human Beings, Power of the People, State Control of Commanding Height of the Economy, Genuine Federalism, and Total Liberation from Imperialism.
“Through these five principles, our great party, the PRP shall bring genuine democratic dividends to the good people of our dear nation, God willing, via the 2023 General Election”, he concluded.
